The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) found that waterways in 42 locations around the country are being put at risk of pollution because of the lack of waste water treatment plants.

The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) found that waterways in 42 locations around the country are being put at risk of pollution because of the lack of waste water treatment plants.

They include Bundoran in Donegal, which is now the subject of EU legal action.

Bundoran, Co Donegal located just minutes from the Leitrim border is a well known tourist and surfer town. The EPA says one in three pollution incidents at plants are caused by “poor management”.
