Four arrested following threats to kill Leitrim

Four men were arrested on Monday afternoon in Killeshandra as part of a joint operation between members of Ballinamore Gardai, Cavan Gardai and the Regional Support Unit following a report of a threat to kill a Co Leitrim businessman.

Four men were arrested on Monday afternoon in Killeshandra as part of a joint operation between members of Ballinamore Gardai, Cavan Gardai and the Regional Support Unit following a report of a threat to kill a Co Leitrim businessman.

The four, all believed to be from Northern Ireland, were intercepted by gardai at 4.30pm on September 28.

At the time of going to press two of the men are detained at Manorhamilton Garda Station and the remaining two are being detained at Carrick-on-Shannon Garda Station.

The men can be detained for up to 24 hours under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act.
