The HSE are looking for further “efficiencies” from support staff working in NoWDOC.

Concern arose over the NoWDOC services following the news that “a new regime” is beginning next month in the North East region which includes major cut backs.

NE DOC services in Cavan and Monaghan are being scaled back to just one over night doctor covering the two counties. The out of hours service in Meath is also being reduced including cuts in doctors, nurses and drivers.

HSE West assured the Leitrim Observer, “There are no plans to reduce funding to General Practitioners participating in NoW DOC in the North West.” But went on to say, ”Discussions are ongoing regarding efficiencies in support staffing arrangements working in NoWDOC.”
