Fundraiser for Uganda midwifery volunteer

Midwifery student, Martha Baker-Kenny from Jamestown will be volunteering in Uganda this summer.

To help fundraise for development projects, healthcare, education and construction projects in Kisiizi, Uganda.

Martha is hosting a fundraiser in Mulvey’s Arch Bar, Jamestown on Saturday, March 15 with music, raffle and a lot of fun!

Martha is one of 11 volunteers travelling to Kisiizi, a rural town in the Rukungiri district of South western Uganda with UCDVO - University College Dublin Volunteers Overseas.

Martha along with ten other healthcare students will assist staff in Kisiizi hospital to develop services there.

Thirty eight percent of the population in Uganda live on less than $1.25 a day, life expectancy is 54.5 years and a woman in Uganda has a 1/25 chance of dying during childbirth.

All donations will go straight to development projects in Kisiizi, Uganda.
