Gardaí in Sligo Town are not treating as suspicious the death of a 23-year-old Belfast man whose body was found at an apartment in the town on Monday afternoon.

The body of Jamie Shaw, a first year Performing Arts student at the college, was discovered at The Village student accommodation complex on the Clarion Road before he was pronounced dead at the scene at approximately 4pm that day.

Mr Shaw’s body was brought to Sligo Regional Hospital on Monday evening and a post-mortem is due to take place today (Wednesday).
