In the County Town which held two unique parades on St Patrick’s Day, there was a “fair” number of arrests on the night of March 17. Similarly in Mohill there was a rise in the number of public order arrests due to more people being in the town.

A number of people were arrested and are due to appear at Carrick-on-Shannon District Court shortly.

There were a number of traffic checkpoints in place, but Gardai only arrested one person suspected of drunk driving. Also on the night of March 17 there was a single vehicle collision outside of Drumcong and the bridge there was severely damaged.
