The following questions were put forward by Councillors at the recent Council meeting.
Cllr Sinead Guckian has asked if priority can be given to scheduling the proposed road maintenance work on the LS 7423-0 Cornagillagh/Corlisheen, under the 2012 Roads Programme of the Council.
In response she was told that the road is included in the 2012 Roads Programme. “Factors such as existing road condition, the weather dependency of the planned works, and the proximity of other roads projects in the area will all be taken into account,” noted a Council spokesperson.
Lighting at Kinlough estate
Referring to the lighting situation at Dartry Veil, Kinlough, Cllr Sean McSharry has said residents say the lighting situation is very poor for pedestrians and he requested the Council address this.
He was told that the housing estate in question is a Private Estate and it is the responsibility of the developer to complete all lighting in this area and to maintain the lights until the estate is taken in charge by Leitrim County Council.
R280 at Kinlough
Routine maintenance will be carried out on the R280 at the Grotto, Kinlough following a request by Cllr Siobhan McGloin.
Repair of trenches
Speaking at the recent monthly meeting, Cllr Sean McDermott asked the Council to repair the trenches that were cut in the N16 road in Glenfarne “as they have become dangerous for motorists recently.”
He was told that a number of slit trenches were carried out on the N16 near Sradrine as part of the site investigation works for the N16 Road realignment scheme in this area. “They were reinstated on a temporary basis and have now been fully reinstated,” added a spokesperson for the Council.
