Two charged following drugs find

Two men have appeared before a special sitting of Sligo District court as part of an ongoing drug detection operation by Gardai.

Two men have appeared before a special sitting of Sligo District court as part of an ongoing drug detection operation by Gardai.

The men, one in his 30s and the second in his 40s were arrested following the seizure of a large quantity of cannabis plants at a premises in Laghey, Co Donegal. The plants had an estimated street value in the region of €1.6m.

Approximately 2,000 plants were discovered growing in the warehouse in Trummon, Laghey on May 25. The premises was very well equipped in an elaborate growing operation.

The men were questioned in relation to the find and were later brought before a special sitting of Sligo District Court.
