Carrick lady set to win €1m

Siobhán Talbot, long-time member of Carrick-on-Shannon Golf Club, is one of 25 people being put forward for the Druids Glen hole-in-one competition this Friday, June 1 by Ian Dempsey’s Today FM Breakfast Show.

They will be joined on the day by 50 more competitors from Druids Glen. Siobhán, whose handicap is 13, has one chance in 12,750 - according to statistics on the Druids Glen website. BUT the odds of winning Ireland’s lotto is 1 in 8,145,060 and somebody wins that at least once a month! Siobhán will be back in Carrick to play in the club’s Classic competition this bank holiday weekend. Entry per team is €200 and includes a meal in the clubhouse afterwards. Presentation of Prizes will be Monday evening, June 4 at 8.30pm in Clubhouse. Carrick Golf Club
