A Fine Gael councillor has tabled a motion calling for An Post to provide seating in Post Offices for elderly people waiting in ‘lengthy queues’.

Cllr John Ward put forward the motion at the May meeting noting he had been contacted by a number of elderly people who had been forced to stand for lengthy periods in queues at their local post office. He said the closure of smaller post offices had added to pressure on larger offices and said that seating should be provided as a priority.
