Galway businessman, Kevin McGeever, who was found wandering the road near Ballinamore town at the end of January following an alleged kidnapping, has vowed to fight rumours that he had allegedly engaged in fraud.

In the national press, Mr McGeever said that he was looking forward to dispelling allegations about the circumstances of his past business dealings and about his abduction.

Mr McGeever disappeared from his luxury mansion in Craughwell, Co Galway last. He was later found by passing motorists in a very dishevelled and emaciated state on the border of Counties Cavan and Leitrim in January 2013.

The property developer was interviewed by gardai about his alleged kidnapping last week.

Mr McGeever ran a property development firm in Dubai for a number of years before falling into financial difficulty. Originally from Swinford, Co Mayo, he sold residential and commercial property through his Mullingar-based firm KMM International Properties.
