Main Beach, Bundoran is one of the 19 bathing areas which has been tested in Co Donegal and has been deemed safe to swim in.
The successful testing was carried out recently by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).
Mayor of Bundoran Philip McGlynn said “Bundoran Town Council are delighted that once again the Main Beach has been passed fully compliant with water quality standards this year. It is vital for us as Ireland’s Premier Seaside resort that visitors and locals alike have a safe place to bathe during the summer months and can be guaranteed a pleasant bathing experience”.
Mr McGlynn went on to pay tribute to the council workers who work all year round to ensure the standards are maintained on the beach.
Details on the water sampling carried out this year are available on the notice board at the beach.
