Fine Gael TD, Tony McLoughlin, has told the Leitrim Observer that he expects a breakthrough in the on-going saga regarding the current management of Cregg House.
Deputy McLoughlin has been in touch with Minister Kathleen Lynch’s office and the HSE seeking information regarding a resolution between the current service providers the Sisters of Wisdom and the HSE over management arrangements at Cregg House.
“There is much uncertainty among the service users, staff and family and as far as I am concerned this is not acceptable however following some detailed negotiations covering a wide range of issues in recent days, from what I understand I am confident of a possible handover of management to the HSE at the end of September,” stated Deputy McLoughlin.
“I am hopeful of some announcements on this issue in the next few days when all of the outstanding issues are resolved, however it is important for the sake of the service users of Cregg House that there is a smooth transition and that there is a clear way forward over the management of this very important facility for our most vulnerable.
