Gardai are investigating a fatal road traffic collision which occurred on Monday, July 22 off the Boyle - Gurteen road.
The collision occurred at Clogher, Monasteraden, Co Sligo, just off the R294 Boyle to Gurteen road, at approximately 6.20pm, July 22.
A male, 22 years, was the sole occupant of the tractor drawing a trailer. The male was ejected from the tractor and received fatal injuries when struck by the trailer. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The road was closed Monday night and Tuesday morning for forensic/technical examination, local diversions were in place.
The deceased was removed from the scene to Sligo General Hospital, a post mortem was carried out yesterday, Tuesday, July 23.
Separately, on the same day a motorcyclist died in a road crash in Thurles. A car and a motorcycle collided at Boulick, Gortnahoe at around 10pm Monday night resulting in the death of the man.
With rain returning, AA Roach Watch have advised road users to exert extra care. “After a warm dry spell dust, oil and debris build up on a road and when wet, the surface becomes lethal. Extreme care is needed.”
