Shannon Gaels Minor Board are hosting their own Rose of Tralee style event called the Queen of the Shannon which takes place in The Bush Hotel on Friday, 4th October.
12 generous local businesses have nominated 12 excellent participants to go forward to become the Queen of the Shannon 2013.
The 12 potential queens come from different areas in the locality including Carrick-on-Shannon, Elphin, Ballyfarnon, Croghan and Kilmore.

We have picked an excellent judging panel consisting of:

Local Milliner Cora Byrne
Special Guest Judge
But the judges don’t have all the say. The public will also have a chance to vote for their Queen on the night. The public will contribute 30% of the overall decision.
There will also be exhibition stands on the night from Mulvey’s House of Gifts, Local Milliner Cora Byrne and Local Bridal Boudoir Shona Costello.
Music will also come from recent All-Ireland finalists Croghan/Drumlion/Cortober Community Games choir and Fergal Harman.
Tickets cost €10 on the night for adults and €5 for students and children. Doors will open at 7.30pm with the event starting at 8pm sharp. A great night of fun and entertainment guaranteed
