A lucky north Leitrim family will be reunited this Christmas thanks to Lyons Tea and the generous spirit of a best friend.
Maura Gallagher, from Manorhamilton entered Lyons Tea’s ‘Bring The Talk Home’ competition and won the ultimate prize of bringing a loved one home from abroad, but not for herself, for her best friend of 40 years, Mary-Margaret Parsons.
Maura nominated to fly Mary-Margaret’s daughter Sharon home from Holland for her mother’s 60th birthday on 21st December. Sharon hasn’t been able to come home for a few years as she’s saving to buy a house in Holland.
Maura and Mary-Margaret have been through good times and bad and Maura has expressed her delight at being able to win this great early birthday present.
Speaking about the competition Liz Finlay, Lyons Tea Brand Manager said, “These days, with more and more Irish people living abroad, (Lyons) want to give people the chance to reconnect with those who they may not have seen in a while, we’re delighted Mary-Margaret will have the chance to bring her daughter Sharon home for her birthday.”
She encouraged others to nominate loved ones to come home for Chrsitmas.
