Christmas 2013 in Carrick on Shannon is set to be a truly unique experience for all.
The town of Carrick on Shannon has come together to fight back and encourage people to Think, Buy and Be Local this Christmas by creating a magical experience for residents, shoppers and visitors to town.
On the 14th and 15th of December we have organised a family fun weekend with many activities, a unique shopping experience with great value and promotions on offer and much more…. From 12noon to 8pm on both days an Ice Rink will be in the town park. Polar Plunge will take place on the 14th along with 3 Christmas markets in the Dock, The Court Yard and the Market Yard.
This Christmas there is something for everybody in Carrick on Shannon – lots of entertainment, family fun, a unique shopping experience, local crafts, foods and floral gifts, special offers.

This year on the 14th and 15th of December the town centre will play host to 3 unique Christmas markets featuring over 60 local producers, who will supply top quality food, craft and floral gifts.
The markets will be located in The Market Yard Centre (12-6pm), The Dock (12-6pm) and The Courtyard at Murtagh’s (12-7pm).
In addition to the markets, Carrick will host a synthetic Ice Rink, the ultimate Christmas pleasure which can be enjoyed by young and old alike. This environmentally friendly Ice rink will be located in the Town Park for 2 days and will run from 12 noon to 8pm.
A very special man is set to see, who has been naughty and who has been nice….. Santa Claus will be in The Courtyard checking his list. The boys and girls can come and meet Santa and ask him for something nice and post their letters.
The children are invited to come dressed in their favourite costume and have their faces painted.
To help you find that perfect Christmas gift, the shops of Carrick on Shannon town centre have excellent value in store, with something for every budget. If you get tired from all the activity, why not stop into one of the local restaurants, coffee shops or pubs and enjoy the local hospitality.
If you can’t make the 14th &15th don’t worry as on the 20th, 21st and 22nd the Christmas Markets will continue at Murtagh’s Courtyard and Santa will be back to see who is naughty and nice.
For those coming to town by train Carrick Taxis is providing a free collection service from the train station (ends at 17.15pm) to various drop off points around town, every Saturday before Christmas.
