Kilbrackan Arms in Carrigallen was the venue as a charity ‘shave-in’ took place in aid of the battle against prostate cancer.

The event, entitled ‘Men Only Prostate Cancer’, took place on Saturday November 15th.

The main focus of the evening was a ‘shave-in’ which saw five locals go under the clippers. Mervyn Richardson of Jetwash, Carrigallen and his son Keith, along with Eamon O’Malley of O’Malley’s Butchers, Carrigallen, Christy Coyne and Tom Humphreys all had their beards shaved in aid of the cause.

This was Mervyn’s first clean shave in over 40 years, while its over 20 years since Tom had a trim! The event was a huge success with over €10,000 raised.

See this week’s Leitrim Observer for more pictures from the charity ‘shave-in’.
