Gardai are urging motorists to drive with extreme caution as torrential rain has led to severe flooding across north Leitrim.
Worst affected is Glenfarne where at least one home has been flooded and two other properties are under threat from a sudden rise in the local river. The deluge has made the N16 impassable on the Manorhamilton side of the village and gardai are now diverting motorists via Belcoo.
The village of Dromahair has also been impacted by flooding with flooding reported near Killenummery National School and water levels in the River Bonnet rising by nearly a foot in just 15 minutes alone.
Gardai are warning motorists not to make any unnecessary journeys and to drive with extreme caution if you have to travel on the roads.
