Patrick to walk from Dublin to Leitrim

Patrick McKenna, from Clonsilla in North County Dublin is making the trek from his native town to Drumkeerin from May 29 to June 4 in aid of Barretstown House, a facility which rebuilds the lives of children affected by childhood cancer.

Patrick McKenna, from Clonsilla in North County Dublin is making the trek from his native town to Drumkeerin from May 29 to June 4 in aid of Barretstown House, a facility which rebuilds the lives of children affected by childhood cancer.

Patrick, who celebrates his 50th birthday this year purchased a cottage in the Drumkeerin area ten years ago and has travelled weekly from the capital to the North Leitrim town. The walk will begin on Tuesday, May 29 and Patrick will travel through and stop overnight in several towns along the N4 including Enfield, Mullingar, Rathowen, Longford and Carrick-on-Shannon before stopping off in Drumshanbo and eventually Drumkeerin.
