€309,000 for Manorhamilton Sports Facility

The Minister for Environment, Community and Local Government, Phil Hogan TD has today (Thursday) announced the approval of €309,000 to North Leitrim Community Amenity Project which will provide for a new all weather Astro Turf facility adjacent to the Bee Park, Manorhamilton.

The Minister for Environment, Community and Local Government, Phil Hogan TD has today (Thursday) announced the approval of €309,000 to North Leitrim Community Amenity Project which will provide for a new all weather Astro Turf facility adjacent to the Bee Park, Manorhamilton.

The Minister informed local FG TD Tony Mc Loughlin this afternoon by telephone. The Sligo North Leitrim TD had been lobbying the Minister to expedite the decision following approval at board level by Leitrim Development Company some months ago.

The total cost of this project is well in excess of €400,000 which along with the astro pitch and associated works includes flood lighting and spectator facilities.

“I want to compliment the local Committee for their hard work in developing the project alongside the staff of Leitrim Development Company at the Rural Development section for their collective hard work”, concluded Deputy Mc Loughlin.
