A spokesperson for the Office of the Revenue Commissioners has confirmed that a substantial amount of diesel was seized following a recent operation in Manorhamilton and Sligo.
In a statement released to the Leitrim Observer it was confirmed that “46,000 litres of diesel and two tankers were detained on November 27 by Revenue’s Customs Service from two premises in Sligo town and Manorhamilton on suspicion that the appropriate rate of Mineral Oil Products Tax has not been paid on the product.”
A spokesperson from the Garda Press Office confirmed Gardai were involved in the operation, which was led by Revenue’s Customs Service and no arrests were made.
