Deputy Michael Colreavy, Sinn Féin TD for Sligo/North Leitrim has welcomed government commitment of the upgrading of the N4 road between Castlebaldwin and Cloonamahon.
Speaking following an all-party meeting organised by Sinn Féin in Leinster House, Deputy Colreavy said: “I am delighted that Minister John Perry announced that the NRA has agreed that the project could move to the Environmental Impact study and land purchase stage.
“Our job now is to ensure that all of this is put in writing, with definite timescales and a commitment to funding the work. We do not want to have to put up another white cross along this patch of road following a fatal accident. I would like to congratulate Brendan Mulhern and all the N4 action on their sterling work over the past 20 years to try and fix this problem.”
