A New Jersey teenager, Aisling Cooke who died on Wednesday morning, September 3 from car crash injuries has a strong connection locally.

A New Jersey teenager, Aisling Cooke who died on Wednesday morning, September 3 from car crash injuries has a strong connection locally.

Aisling was the daughter of Hugh & Deirdre Cooke (Murray) New Jersey (Carrigallen) & Grand Daughter of Pat & Pidgie Murray, Queens (Killaneen & Aughnasheelin).

The South Jersey soccer player was on life support following a Saturday car crash, she died Wednesday morning from her injuries.

The teenager and four other Mainland Regional High School soccer players were on their way to compete in a charity event when they were involved in a three-car crash. It is understood from local press reports that a truck crossed the centre lane, it struck a box truck and a car. The other passengers sustained injuries.

Aisling Cooke was entering her freshman year at Mainland Regional High School, New Jersey.

Mass will be offered in St Patrick’s Church Ballinamore at 7pm this Friday, September 5.
