Glenfarne woman Nicola Slevin will represent Leitrim Macra at this year’s FBD Queen of the Land Festival which takes place this weekend in Tullamore, County Offaly.
Featuring contestants from home and abroad, the festival draws both Macra na Feirme members and non-members.
Nicola will take part in a number of events including an onstage interview at the festival, which this year celebrates its 50th year.
The event kicks-off on Friday with the official opening followed by a vintage car parade. Music will be provided by RuggedWood followed by the 50th anniversary dinner dance, before Declan Nerny takes to the stage.
Tug of War and street entertainment will be provided on Saturday afternoon with Abbeyfolk. While Saturday night sees the Queens take to the stage for interviews in front of family, friends and supporters. This will be followed by music by Transmitter, Ruaile Buaile and Rock on Paddy.
On Sunday night, a Gala Banquet and crowning of the 2014 Queen of the Land will take place with music by Fiesta. Tickets for each night can be purchased on the door.
