Christmas tree recycling

As the festive season winds down, households across County Leitrim are preparing to take down their Christmas decorations and find eco-friendly ways to dispose of their trees. To support this effort, Leitrim County Council has announced convenient recycling options available throughout January.

Residents can recycle their Christmas trees at two designated locations: the Mohill Civic Amenity Site and the Manorhamilton Civic Amenity Site. Both sites will accept trees on Fridays and Saturdays during January, including January 3rd, 4th, 10th, 11th, 17th, 18th, 24th, 25th, and 31st.

This initiative provides an environmentally responsible way to dispose of Christmas trees, helping reduce waste while promoting sustainability in the community. Residents are encouraged to remove all decorations, lights, and stands before bringing their trees for recycling.

For more information on opening hours and other waste management services, contact the Civic Amenity Sites or visit the Leitrim County Council website. Embrace the green spirit of the season by recycling your tree.
