Speers Green Estate
The road at Speers Green estate in Dromahair will be assessed for potential inclusion in future roadworks programmes.
At a recent meeting of Manorhamilton Municipal District, Cllr Mary Bohan proposed that resurfacing of the estate road should be prioritised.
In response, the Planning department stated that the housing estate was officially taken in charge in 2014, following a request by the majority of homeowners.
At that time, while the estate was generally in good condition, the final wearing course had not been installed.
It was noted that the bond attached to the estate had expired in 2007, with no funds available to complete the wearing course.
As the road is now, any resurfacing must be financed through the Council’s annual roadworks budget.
The response confirmed that the road will be assessed for inclusion in upcoming programmes, with interim patching to be carried out as needed.
Cllr Bohan also proposed a motion calling for flood prevention measures at the home of a Dromahair resident.
The Roads department responded that the flooding will be investigated on site, with remedial works to be undertaken as necessary.
