Community in shock as heartfelt tributes pour in for 31-year-old mother Melissa Gaffey, remembered for her warmth, kindness, and love for her family.

Tributes are being paid following the sudden passing of Melissa Gaffey on Monday, June 2nd.

Melissa Gaffey, 31, a beloved mother and daughter, is remembered as a kind and beautiful young woman whose unexpected death has deeply affected all who knew her. She was predeceased by her grandfather, Pat Creamer.

She is survived by her cherished son, Patrick, and his father, Mark; her mother, Dymphna; father, Mattie; sister, Eira; and brother, Eoin.

Melissa will be dearly missed by her grandparents, Matt and Petra Gaffey, and her grandmother, Julia Creamer, as well as her aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family, and a wide circle of friends.

"Lost for words... so sad. Such a beautiful young lady gone too soon. R.I.P. Melissa. My heart goes out to your family and friends and your little boy," read one heartfelt condolence message shared in tribute.

Melissa will repose at her grandmother’s home in Drumduff North, Drumshanbo (N41 HA29) on Thursday, June 5th, and Friday, June 6th, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. on both days. Parking will be available opposite the house at Acres Lough.

“I still can't believe the news; it's so hard to believe,” read another message of condolence.

Her funeral procession will leave her home in Treanmore ahead of a Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. on Saturday, June 7th, in St. Patrick’s Church, Mohill. Burial will follow at Convent Lane Cemetery in Mohill.

The family has requested privacy outside of the reposing hours and deeply appreciates the support and understanding shown during this difficult time.
