Stars, Stripes & Sizzle: July 4th American-Style BBQ party in Leitrim Village

The Leitrim Inn & Blueway Lodge is bringing a taste of the USA to Leitrim this week, as it hosts its second annual July 4th American-style BBQ Party in Leitrim Village.

The celebration kicks off at 6:00 PM on Thursday, July 4th, with an evening packed full of family-friendly fun, food, and music. The event is specially geared towards American visitors holidaying in Leitrim, but welcomes all locals and tourists alike who want to enjoy some classic American festivities.

Owned and run by former New Yorkers, Adeline and Karen Guckian, the team at The Blueway Lodge are putting their heart and soul into recreating the authentic spirit of the holiday. Adeline Guckian, who spent 15 years living in the States, says the event holds special meaning for her family:

“Obviously it’s open to all. As former American residents, it’s a holiday my children loved and wish to still celebrate it in Ireland … Last year we ran it for the first time. It was a huge success — the amount of Americans on holidays here loved being able to celebrate it.”

American-style BBQ plates will be on offer at the event with Face painting, Games and other activities courtesy of Party Time Events being available for all ages.

There will also be Live music from Rakish and Country & Western singer John McGovern at the event. All entertainment and games on the evening will be free of charge.
