An arts-focused space and retreat may be coming soon to North Leitrim, as a planning application was submitted to Leitrim County Council on June 12 seeking approval for such a development.
The proposed project at Mullagh in Dromahair involves the construction of a new standalone building, designed in an agricultural style, which will function as a venue for various artistic residencies, workshops, and retreats.
The proposed development also includes accessible entry and circulation at ground level, making the space suitable for individuals with mobility issues.

In addition, it involves the rearrangement of the existing car parking area to provide 19 car parking spaces, one of which will be designated as an accessible space.
Also included in the application is the provision of new landscaped areas featuring native planting, the installation of a new wastewater treatment system, and all other associated site development works.
Submissions on the proposed development are open until July 16, with a decision expected to be made by Leitrim County Council by August 6.
