Cathaoirleach Paddy Farrell said of the visit: “Leitrim County Council were delighted to facilitate the Mount Lucas Rig in Carrick-on-Shannon. We understand the importance of home retrofitting in meeting climate targets but also in ensuring resilience of Leitrim homes against the rising costs of energy bills. The information and advice and the practical demonstrations available on the Rig is very insightful and the provision of training and education courses was a great opportunity for homeowners and trades people in Leitrim. The hosting of this unit builds on the event held on Vacant Properties and retrofitting is an important strand in the transformation of any home.”

Mr Kielty added his appreciation for the ‘National Construction Training Centre, Mount Lucas for providing the Rig and the courses, the Landmark Hotel for providing town space, Atlantic Technological University for their assistance in organising the Programme and all the advisors and exhibitors who gave of their time over the course of the week’.
