Leitrim secures over half a million euro for water infrastructure projects

Nine projects in Leitrim will receive €509,082 to deliver essential water and wastewater infrastructure, which was announced on Tuesday, July 22.

This funding is part of a larger €73.9 million allocation for 291 projects across Ireland under the Multi-annual Rural Water Programme 2024 to 2026.

The Rural Water Programme delivers improvements to private domestic water and wastewater services in areas of rural Ireland where there are no public water services and will benefit 63,000 rural households across the country.

The funding will support both Group Water Schemes (GWS) and Group Sewerage Schemes (GSS), focusing on water conservation, leakage reduction, and prevention.
