Timmy and Áine Faughnan
It’s a golden year for one of Leitrim’s most beloved food producers, Dromod Boxty, as the family-run company celebrates 35 years in business and takes home Gold at the 2025 Blas na hÉireann Awards in Dingle for its brand-new Protein Pancakes.
Now in its 18th year, Blas na hÉireann is the premier competition for quality Irish produce across the island of Ireland. The pop-up village in Dingle becomes a central hub for producers nationwide to come together and celebrate the very best of Irish food and drink.
Founded in 1990 by Timmy and Angela Faughnan, Dromod Boxty is now led by their daughter, Áine Faughnan. The company has grown from a small family kitchen into a national food brand renowned for excellence, innovation, and authenticity.
“This Gold award for our Protein Pancakes is a huge honour,” said Managing Director Áine Faughnan. “It celebrates not just our product, but our people, our family’s 35-year journey, and the proud food culture of Leitrim. We’re thrilled to represent our county and continue pioneering the best in Irish produce.”

To mark their milestone year, the company has launched a Golden Ticket Giveaway, offering 35 prizes including Centre Parcs breaks, Smyths Toys vouchers, and luxury hampers. Shoppers simply check inside their packs for a chance to “win gold” themselves.
From humble beginnings in Dromod to national acclaim, this Leitrim family business continues to shine, proving that when it comes to Irish food, the future is truly golden.
