Dual planning applications seek to transform facilities in North Leitrim village

Kiltyclogher Community Council has submitted two planning applications proposing a new serviced campervan site, leisure facilities, and improvements to the community garden.

Dual planning applications seek to transform facilities in North Leitrim village

Planning permission has been applied for to Leitrim County Council by Kiltyclogher Community Council, seeking a number of upgrades to the village, including the development of a small serviced campervan site.

An application filed on November 19 seeks permission to build a campsite with five serviced caravan/campervan parking pitches and to construct a single-storey campsite amenity building.

The proposal also includes the construction of a single-storey recreation and storage building.

In addition, it seeks to provide new leisure features such as a sauna, a fire-pit seating area, and other recreational amenities.

The application further proposes to widen and improve the existing vehicular and pedestrian site entrance and to connect the site to the existing public foul sewer mains, together with all ancillary works.

The location for the proposed works is Kiltyclogher Community Centre. Separately, Kiltyclogher Community Council has submitted another planning application seeking upgrades to the existing community garden and playground.

This application, also filed on November 19, proposes to erect public lighting poles along the south side of the existing multi-purpose sports area, install ball-stop netting on the west side of the sports surface, drill and construct a borehole well to supply water to the existing polytunnel and community gardens, and extend and resurface the current roads and pathways along with any other related works required.

A decision is due on both applications by January 22 next year.
