Leitrim is set to receive €806,892 in funding under the Smart Regions Enterprise Innovation Scheme.
The Government scheme will invest €18 million across 40 regions in an initiative designed to strengthen regional enterprise, accelerate innovation and drive sustainable economic growth throughout Ireland.
The Northern and Western Region will receive €3,485,882 across 17 projects, three of which are in Leitrim.
A total of €632,000 will go towards the Industry Programme Support Scheme, which aims to deliver innovation for the construction and quarry sectors, focusing on energy efficiency, environmental performance, geological material science and circularity.
A further €142,492 will be spent on the development of a Master Plan to guide the creation of an enterprise ecosystem centred around the Carrick Campus.
Meanwhile, €32,400 will be used for the development of smart technology infrastructure at the Carrick-on-Shannon Business Campus.
Sligo received €998,016 in funding under the scheme, while Donegal received €75,120.

“This funding marks a major step forward for balanced economic development. By supporting world-class innovation in sectors such as AI, agritech, sustainability and advanced manufacturing, we are ensuring that the regions are not only keeping pace with technological change but leading it,” said Minister Marian Harkin, emphasising the importance of targeted investment in advancing regional potential.
“Communities and enterprises across the Northwest stand to benefit greatly from these projects, which will enhance skills, drive research, support decarbonisation and build the innovation capacity required for future economic resilience.”
