Almost a dozen beautiful ladies are in the running to be crowned Leitrim Rose 2013 this weekend.

The annual Leitrim Rose Selection Night is this Saturday, May 4 in the Bush Hotel, Carrick-on-Shannon.

The glamorous event is a big date in the Leitrim Social Calendar each year as the finest young women in the county participate in the renowned Rose of Tralee. The winner on the night begins a whirlwind year as the Leitrim Rose which could see her take the overall international Rose of Tralee title at the end of Summer.

The ladies will have a jam packed day on Saturday, May 4. During the day they participate in individual and group interviews with the judges before they are whisked off to prepare for the glamorous stage performances. The selection night promises to be a huge night of fun, excitement and heart throbbing drumrolling tension.

Brendan Hennesy from Setanta Sports, Newstalk, and experienced Rose of Tralee commentator will be the MC for the night and he will have the crowds buzzing as they all cheer on their girls. Parishes from all over Leitrim are being represented and no matter which girl is chosen in the end, she will no doubt go on to do her county proud at the Regional Rose of Tralee Festival in Portlaoise. The 2013 Rose of Tralee Regional Festival will take place at the Portlaoise Heritage Hotel, Co Laois from 29th May to 2nd June 2013.

Entry fee is €15 and €5 for kids under 12. Bring your banners because there will be a banner prize too!
