Leitrim Council opens applications for St. Patrick's day 2026 event grants

Leitrim County Council has officially opened applications for the St. Patrick’s Day 2026 Event Grants, inviting community groups, organisations and event organisers across County Leitrim to apply for funding to support parades, festivals and cultural celebrations planned for next year’s national holiday.

The annual grants scheme is designed to help local clubs, voluntary groups and event producers deliver vibrant and memorable St. Patrick’s Day events that reflect Leitrim’s rich heritage and community spirit. Details and application forms are now available on the council’s website, including guidance documents outlining eligibility and how to submit proposals.

Organisers planning parades, community celebrations or cultural festivals on 17 March 2026 are encouraged to review the scheme’s guidelines and complete the application form ahead of the deadline. Specific requirements include adherence to local event safety standards and, where applicable, proper parade registration.

An evaluation panel appointed by the council will assess all applications to ensure they align with the objectives of supporting local engagement, cultural expression and community participation. Successful applicants will receive funding to help cover costs such as event production, marketing, insurance and logistics.

Leitrim County Council has reiterated its commitment to fostering community activity and cultural celebration through this grants programme, which plays a key role in strengthening local traditions and supporting grassroots event delivery throughout the county.
