A former church building in Leitrim will go up for auction on Thursday.
The old church of Drumcong will go for sale online on Thursday with the minimum opening bid of €175,000.
The building that has a floor plan of 8,200 square feet sits on a site of around 1.3 acres, with residential or occupancy potential.
Originally built as a church in 1976 by the parish of Kiltubrid, it was a modest church with the capacity to seat around 450 people, commissioned after their previous church building was deemed unusable.
The building is in the modernist style with three wings off the buildings’ main line. It is situated in the village not far from Ballinamore, Drumshanbo, and Carrick-on-Shannon.
It has the provision for two kitchens, seven bedrooms, and five bathrooms.
One wing contained the sacristy, toilets, and other storage spaces, while the other made up the body of the church.
It features a central fireplace styled in handcrafted stone, in the centre of a high-ceilinged and large room.
Each of the three sections of the building has a different Eircode and a separate electricity supply.
The three wings contain duplex residential spaces with four units, two near completion and two under construction. Two were previously occupied.
Including power, water, sewers, and high-speed broadband supplies, and ample parking on site.
The site is being sold in “as is” condition. The auction will take place on Thursday, 22nd of January at 12 noon on BIDNOW.ie.
