A driver of a vehicle with a trailer was stopped by Gardaí in Leitrim this morning after the vehicle was found to be in a clearly dangerous condition.

The trailer appeared to be severely overloaded, forcing the rear of the vehicle down and affecting the tyre under the excessive weight.

The driver of the vehicle was arrested and charged and is set to appear at a sitting of the District Court at a later date.

In a post on Facebook, An Garda Síochána Sligo/Leitrim said, “Gardai on patrol at Manorhamilton, Co Leitrim this morning stopped the driver of this vehicle and trailer. The vehicle was deemed to be dangerously defective following examination.
