RIP: 'Anna was a character who made everyone's day brighter with her cheeky grin, infectious laugh, and the odd wink'

RIP:  'Anna was a character who made everyone's day brighter with her cheeky grin, infectious laugh, and the odd wink'

Anna Bohan (née Clancy) Killeveha, Cloone, Co. Leitrim

The death has occurred of Anna Bohan (née Clancy) Killeveha, Cloone, Co. Leitrim, Wednesday, 4th February 2026, peacefully surrounded by her loving family, in the wonderful care of the staff at Laurel Lodge Nursing Home, Longford.

 

Anna is pre-deceased by her beloved husband; Patrick (Packie), her infant son; Gerard, her parents; Charles and Mary, brothers; John, Peter and Michael, and her sister Nora.

One message of condolence read: "On behalf of the Residents, Management, and staff of Laurel Lodge Nursing Home, our deepest sympathies to you all on the passing of Anna. Anna was a character who made everyone's day brighter with her cheeky grin, infectious laugh, and the odd wink here and there. We will miss Anna greatly here in the nursing home, especially in both our Hazelwood and Glencar units."

Another said: "My sincere and deepest condolences to the entire family. No words can express how hard it is to lose a loved one but the memories will live in your hearts forever. May God give you all the strength and peace you all need during this difficult time. I will have the entire family in prayers."

Another comment spoke of Anna's kindness. "I recall her kindness & visiting our own mother Kathleen, including in Laurel Lodge. I hope the many years of good memories are some consolation now."

Anna's death is deeply regretted and she is sadly missed by her loving children and their partners; Frank (Bernadette), Mary, Noeleen (Seamus McGovern), Padraig, David (Breege) and Anne; her fourteen cherished grandchildren; David, Dermot, Martina, Kevin, Donna Marie, Karina, Conor, Anthony, Jacqueline, Leanna, Philip, Jessica, Christopher and Roisin; her adored great-grandchildren; Aoife and James; her sister; Bridie Flood, her brother; Cathal Clancy, sisters-in law, nieces, nephews, extended family, neighbours and many friends.

Anna's funeral took place at St. Patrick’s Church, Ballinamuck on Saturday (7th February).
