Dromahair couple looking for investment from the Dragons try their luck on Dragons Den

A Dromahair company, which takes the hassle out of home maintenance, will appear on Dragons Den this Sunday, May 22 bidding for an investment of €150,000 for a 15 percent share of the business.

The website allows the customer to book a range of services: plumbing, electrical and appliance repair, boiler services along with most other jobs that fall under the heading handyman.

John Farrell and Sadie O’Hara, the owners of Fixlist, from Dromahair, commenting on their business said “You have to try these things to succeed, if you believe in your business enough then why not do everything within your power to make it work”. is based in the northwest has recently started providing it's services in Galway too.

“All jobs are priced upfront on the website, clients can book a service on a day that suits them, when booking multiple jobs there is 50% off the cheapest job, you can pre-authorisation payment but no payment will be taken until the works are successfully completed, we even clean up after ourselves, leaving your house or business just the way it was: but with the problem fixed! Lastly and most importantly when you book a job with you have booked a tradesman that is qualified, certified and fully insured to complete the works.”

They went on to say “We decided to open this company as this service is currently not available in Ireland, you cannot book and pay for the services we provide online with any other company, which we feel is a major gap in the market and hence the reason we also applied for Dragons Den. The preparation for Dragons Den is extremely intense as you have limited time to prepare the pitch before it’s filmed but in saying that it’s a fantastic experience and worth all the stress. We would definitely recommend it for any start up company that has something different to offer.

“Lastly we’d like to take this opportunity to thank our family, friends, suppliers and customers for their continued support.”

Don’t forget to tune in this Sunday night, May 22 to RTE1 at 9:30 to catch them on Dragons Den will also be shown on Irish TV for Leitrim County Matters in the coming weeks.
