Micheal McGoldrick will lead this year's Dromahair parade which is scheduled to commence at 4pm on Sunday afternoon.
Micheal, this year's grand marshall, is a six-time All-Ireland potato growing champion and in recognition of his achievements there is a potato theme to this year's festivities.
Local school children are invited to decorate a potato with a chance to win one of the prizes sponsored by 'A Cut Above'. Entering couldn't be easier, simply take a picture of the potato when it has been decorated and send it via whatsapp to (086) 6088284 and include the child's name, school, class and a contact phone number.
In keeping with the potato theme, parade organisers are encouraging everyone to enter a 'family float' with the float deemed by judges to be the best winning a voucher for day out in Tayto Park.
The parade promises to feature many attractions to keep all the family entertained and there will be plenty of entertainment to keep the everyone amused after its conclusion.
The Sooey school band will perform on stage after the parade while there will also be a ball race with €1,000 in prizes to be won.
In order to ensure the parade and associated events run as smoothly as possible parade organisers are asking members of the public not to park on the village's main street between 10am and 6pm.
