As part of an intelligence led investigation by the Garda National Drugs Unit and local Gardaí from Carrick-on-Shannon with assistance provided by the Garda Air Support Unit two semi-detached houses at Dromod, Co. Leitrim were searched and over 400 plants were recovered.

Both houses have been adapted as Cannabis cultivation sites as part of the professional drugs operation, with sophisticated lighting, irrigation and ventilation systems in place.

The plants, were thought to have an estimated street value in excess of €160,000, were seized.
