National Parents Council launches Exam Helpline

The National Parents Council Post Primary (NPCpp) has launched ‘Exam Helpline 2011’, the annual exam helpline which offers information and advice to students receiving their Leaving Certificate results.

The National Parents Council Post Primary (NPCpp) has launched ‘Exam Helpline 2011’, the annual exam helpline which offers information and advice to students receiving their Leaving Certificate results.

Sponsored by eircom, the Irish Independent and supported by the Department of Education and Skills, this year’s helpline opens from 8am, today Wednesday, August 17th and will be staffed by members of the Institute of Guidance Counsellors.

Available to all students receiving their Leaving Cert results, the Exam Helpline is operated by fully-qualified and experienced Guidance Counsellors.

Students, parents and teachers alike can call the Exam Helpline for information and advice on all 3rd level courses, the points system, re-checks, repeats, CAO procedures, apprenticeships and further training.

Commenting on Exam Helpline 2011, Rose Tully, Helpline Co-ordinator said: “The NPCpp is once again delighted to be involved with this important initiative in conjunction with our sponsors, eircom, the Irish Independent and the Department of Education and Skills.

“We encourage students and indeed their parents to call the helpline to obtain support from the fully qualified members of the Institute of Guidance Counsellors”.

Students can contact the Exam Helpline on 1800 265 165 and lines are open: Wednesday, 17th August: 8.00am to 7.00pm, Thursday, 18th August: 8.00am to 7.00pm, Friday, 19th August: 10.00am to 3.00pm, Monday, 22nd August: 8.00am to 7.00pm, Tuesday, 23rd August: 8.00am to 7.00pm.
