Boyle District Court sittings will be amalgamated with sittings in Carrick-on-Shannon from early 2012 after Minister for Justice, Alan Shatter, confirmed the closure of a number of courthouses, including Boyle earlier this week.

Speaking in the Dail, Minister Shatter said the Courts Service board last week approved the closures.

As a result Carrick-on-Shannon will take over the district court sittings while Boyle Circuit Court will move to Roscommon town.
