In the run-up to Christmas, the ISPCA is striving to find loving new homes for 36 Collie type dogs removed from the property of a dog hoarder in County Sligo.
ISPCA Inspector Kevin McGinley responded to a call made to the ISPCA National Animal Helpline and discovered dozens of frightened dogs living in sub-standard conditions. Although none were malnourished, many of the dogs had sarcoptic mange and none of the dogs were neutered. Each dog was assessed by a veterinary surgeon and received immediate treatment for diseases. They were all micro-chipped, neutered and spayed.
The ISPCA are desperately appealing for homes for these dogs and if you can help them, please visit www.ispca.ie.
