Eamon O’Cuiv made a return to the front bench as spokesperson for Agriculture, Food and Consumer affairs. O’Cuiv had resigned in February over a disagreement over the Fiscal Treaty.

In the region, Cavan/ Monaghan TD Brendan Smith who was spokesperson on Education will take responsibility for Foreign Affairs, Trade and Border Region Development.

It is understood Deputy Smith will not be seeking election in the new Leitrim Sligo constituency which takes in part of Cavan, but will stay within Cavan/ Monaghan.
