Put on your woolly Jumpers and come walk with us through the highways and byways of Leitrim and North Roscommon on St Stephens Day at 1pm in support of the work of Development Aid Agency Bóthar.
Starting from Spencer Harbour outside Drumkeerin, participants can walk routes of 10Km or 12Km at their own pace depending on fitness and enthusiasm. The walks will be followed with some light refreshments dispensed by the lake shore.
Bóthar, founded in 1991 uses livestock in its Development Aid Projects. Using farm animals such as dairy heifers and dairy goats, Bóthar together with project partners, work with poor families and communities in the Developing World to help alleviate hunger and poverty. Through time, these animals and their produce can bring people living on the margins of survival to a position of relative comfort. Bóthar currently works in 35 countries using many different species of livestock.
All donations to go directly to Bóthar to help buy A Leitrim Cow! Everyone welcome; why not make it a family day out! For further information please call (087) 7764748.
