Ireland Team Manager Giovanni Trapattoni will announce his squad for the forthcoming senior international fixtures versus England, Georgia, Faroe Islands and Spain in Leitrim County Council offices, Carrick-on-Shannon next Monday, May 13.
The press conference will form part of Carrick on Shannon’s 400th Anniversary celebrations, in conjunction with the FAI and Leitrim County Council’s work and involvement in initiatives such as Community Soccer Programme the Goal for Peace Programme with the International Fund for Ireland. Trapattoni will announce his squad at 11am before placing items in a time capsule at the Council offices as part of the Carrick 400 celebrations. He will then travel to Leitrim Village Community Field to meet with the 180 children from ten schools involved in the Goal for Peace programme as recognition for their dedication and commitment to the project.
The Goal for Peace Programme is a novel programme run only in Leitrim bringing together children from Catholic and Protestant backgrounds from 10 schools in Leitrim and Fermanagh through the medium of soccer.
