The new JobsPlus scheme is a Department of Social Protection cash incentive scheme for employers to recruit long-term unemployed people.

“The scheme will see the State cover approximately €1 in €4 of the typical cost of hiring someone who has been on the Live Register for 12 months or more. So while it assists unemployed people to get back to work, it also helps employers to pay workers a decent wage,” he said.
